Musselshell County, Wilson Fire Update: Highway 87 Closed!

The Wilson Fire in Musselshell County is still burning hot and heavy. You have seen the video and pictures all weekend. According to sources there are 125 firefighters on scene as well as 20 engines to fight the blaze. 50 homes and orders for 100 more have been evacuated! The evacuation orders affects Johnny’s Coal Road.
The Wilson Fire grew about 1,000 acres overnight to 4,000 If you plan on traveling Highway 87 south, it has been closed from the junction with Highway 12 south to mile marker 38.
This news comes in addition to evacuation orders for 50 homes on or near Johnny’s Coal Road and pre-evacuation orders for 100 more homes.
The area where residents have been put on pre-evacuation notice includes all those living south of Number 4 Road, east of West Parrot Creek Road, west of Winchester Drive and north of Half Breed Creek.

No size estimates have been made as the fire continues to grow and spread north and west.
