County Says “No” To 16 Native Americans About Polling Places [VIDEO]
16 Native Americans from the Northern Cheyenne tribe filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against county officials as well as the Montana Secretary of State. The Native Americans claim their right to vote this election has been violated.
The group would like polling places, placed closer to their home. After approaching officials about their request, they were essentially denied for this election.
They said the law requires the state and county to provide satellite election offices so voters don’t have to travel as far. State and county officials said they supported the idea, but county officials said it’s too late to have them in place by November.
Voting day is November 6!
