Billings K.O.A. Turns 50 (Kampgrounds Of America) [VIDEO]

Guess who is turning 50? K.O.A. ( Kampground of America)! I remember back in the 70′s camping with my family and the campgrounds were just a piece of land with room for your tent, an ice chest and the family station wagon. Times have changed. Billings K.O.A. is 50 this year!
Billings, MT had the 1st K.O.A. campground in the world back in 1962. You drive up and enjoy the Yellowstone River. Today some might think that just because Billings established the 1st K.O.A. that it would be all run down. Over the years Billings K.O.A. has stayed current with the camping times adding updated features including RV hook-ups, family style restrooms and food service. And to this day kids 17 and under are still free while camping with their parents.
Before the months end listen to the Billings Morning News for a talk with Dave Linde from the Billings K.O.A. on FM Newsradio 95. Dave at 13 years old was Billings first K.O.A. “helper”, now he runs the place!
Dave’s parents, Marv and Carol Linde purchased the Billings K.O.A. in 1977.
