UPDATE: Arrest Made In Cody, Wyoming Abuduction and Assualt Case [VIDEO]

UPDATE: Jesse Paul Speer, (39) is from Manhattan, Montana. Speer was arrested in Belgrade over the weekend as a suspect for the abduction and aggravated assault of an 11 year old Cody girl. During a Cody, Wyoming press conference this morning details came out as to what happened on the afternoon of October 8th.

Speer is alleged to have lured the young Cody girl to his vehicle last Monday by asking her to help find a lost puppy. He bound the girls hand and drove her at gunpoint to a remote area near Cody and sexually assaulted her. Rockvam said the suspect put a bag over her head and released her, telling her to count to 50 before she turned around. Hunters in the area spotted the girl while driving out of the area and were able to contact law enforcement and her family.
Cody Police Chief, Perry Rockvam said at the press conference that Speer will be charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and use of a firearm during a felony. Additional charges are expected to be announced by the Park County Wyoming County Attorneys office.
A suspect, Jesse Paul Speer has been arrested in Belgrade in the abduction and assault case in Cody, Wyoming from last week. On Monday, October 8 an 11 year old girl was lured into a man’s vehicle to help him look for his lost puppy.
The girl was then forced at gunpoint.
There will be a press conference in Cody, WY. this morning at 10 a.m.
According to the Gallatin County Detention Center roster, Jesse Paul Speer is being held on a $2 million bond for law enforcement from the State of Wyoming. Gallatin County has not confirmed that Speer is the suspect, but he is the only person listed on the roster being held for Wyoming officials.
